DESCRIPTION:“Online – a Zoom link will be in your order confirmation email – please check your junk mail folder in case it ends up in there. \nNote: We’ve experienced large numbers of people registering for this workshop and not turning up\, this prevents others from registering and attending because the workshop is sold out. So we ask you to only register if you can attend\, and cancel your ticket if you find you can’t make it. \nPlease arrive from 6.45pm so that we can help you with any issues you might have with Zoom. The workshop will start at 7pm. \nEntry to the workshop will close shortly after 7pm (this is because later parts of the workshop build on earlier parts) \nThis workshop is interactive so it’s useful if each participant can log in on a separate device. Note that logging in using a mobile phone or tablet is possible\, but not so good because you can’t see everyone in the group at the same time. \nPlaces are limited so it would be helpful if you only register if you know you will be able to attend\, and cancel your ticket if you realise that you can’t make it. \nWorkshop details \nOppression\, movement building and our relationships as activists \nWe are members of XR looking at how movements can be divided when oppression goes unaddressed\, offering practical tools to heal these divisions which affect our relationships as activists. \nThis workshop will address the importance of understanding the structural nature of oppressions (such as racism\, sexism\, classism\, ableism\, the oppression of young people\, …)\, as well as doing personal healing work – both of which are necessary if we are to work together effectively in a united movement. \nFacilitators \nKarl & Alima \nPracticalities \nPlease note: \nBecause we will be breaking out into pairs for timed ‘listening exchanges’ it will be very helpful if you can bring a timer to the workshop\, e.g. you can use the timer app on a mobile phone (use a spare mobile if you are using your mobile for the Zoom call). \nWhen you register a Zoom link will be sent in your order confirmation email\, please check your junk mail folder in case the email ends up in there. \nAccessibility \n* This workshop is in English.
