DESCRIPTION:Oppression\, movement building and our relationships as activists.\nNote: We’ve experienced large numbers of people registering for this workshop and not turning up.\nThis prevents others from registering and attending because the workshop is sold out.\nSo we ask you to only book if you can attend and cancel your ticket in good time if you find you can’t make it.\n—–\nWe are members of XR looking at how movements can be divided when oppression goes unaddressed\, offering practical tools to heal these divisions which affect our relationships as activists.\nThis workshop will address the importance of understanding the structural nature of oppressions (such as racism\, sexism\, classism\, ableism\, the oppression of young people\, …)\, as well as doing personal healing work – both of which are necessary if we are to work together effectively in a united movement.\nPlease arrive from 15 minutes before the start time for a prompt start.\nWhen you register a Zoom link will be sent in your order confirmation email. DESCRIPTION:On 24th April 2021 every citizen of the UK is invited to mark the Kinder Scout trespass wherever and however they can. Together we will remember our radical roots and reclaim our most fundamental rights: to walk\, to wander\, to live.\nAnd soon\, when covid allows\, we will gather together for a monumental & inspirational Mass Trespass\, the likes of which our Kinder Scout ancestors would be proud…\n✊🏿 ✊🏼 ✊🏽 ✊🏾 ✊🏻\nIn 1932\, five men were jailed for their role in organising the Kinder Scout trespass of April 24th. Their crime? Walking on a hill where they were not supposed to.\nThis April 24th we will commemorate their actions with a trespass of our own\, reconnecting with each other and exploring how the land beneath our feet affects every part of our lives.\nIn defiance of unjust\, oppressive laws\, the Kinder Scout trespass grew from the actions of 500 working men and women to a protest movement of over 10\,000 people in just three weeks. These early pioneers sacrificed and fought for our right to roam these beautiful Isles. DESCRIPTION:Oppression\, movement building and our relationships as activists.\nNote: We’ve experienced large numbers of people registering for this workshop and not turning up.\nThis prevents others from registering and attending because the workshop is sold out.\nSo we ask you to only book if you can attend and cancel your ticket in good time if you find you can’t make it.\n—–\nWe are members of XR looking at how movements can be divided when oppression goes unaddressed\, offering practical tools to heal these divisions which affect our relationships as activists.\nThis workshop will address the importance of understanding the structural nature of oppressions (such as racism\, sexism\, classism\, ableism\, the oppression of young people\, …)\, as well as doing personal healing work – both of which are necessary if we are to work together effectively in a united movement.\nPlease arrive from 15 minutes before the start time for a prompt start.\nWhen you register a Zoom link will be sent in your order confirmation email.
