Our purpose is to provide a supportive foundation for our teams to work at their best, with a common understanding of the types of behaviour and approaches that they can expect from everyone else in Animal Rebellion.
Our culture is a living, breathing and evolving thing that is embodied and practiced by the whole organisation. Good cultures come from attention, practice and being willing to try new things, make mistakes and grow from them.
Conflict Support
We acknowledge the inevitability of mistakes, misunderstandings, contradictions, critiques and conflicting ideas in our working groups. We are committed to cultivating our capacity to tolerate discomfort and work through tensions.
Inclusion
While we are all here for the same purpose, our experience of the systems of oppression we are trying to change is very different depending on our political, social and cultural identities. We are each working hard to unlearn our internalized inferiority or internalized superiority within systems of oppression.
Well-being
We help people to be vulnerable and able to share when they’ve made mistakes or need help; creating shared trust and interdependence, where people feel safe enough to be able to volunteer in a way that is manageable in the long term.
