Join us for this online talk and learn more about the climate breakdown, meet new people and ask any questions you have in the 20 minutes Q&A following the talk. In 2018 XR launched with a bang with a message of urgency. Now, 3 years later, is it time to reconsider our use of emergency messaging as a movement? In this presentation we'll walk through recent research into framing and communication in the environmental justice movement and how we can use it to supercharge our communications this year and beyond
In 2021 Animal Rebellion is entering into an exciting new phase with campaigns popping up left, right and centre. However, it can sometimes seem a little daunting to start a campaign in your area if its not something you've done before. This training will go over the basics of how to plan and implement a successful campaign. It will touch on campaign theory as well as going into examples of effective campaigns and how they won. This training is great for those working on the plant-based councils campaign or for anyone who wants to start to see real change in their area towards a better world.

Part of what makes Animal Rebellion amazing is the wonderful and diverse people who volunteer and by being a spokesperson, you represent this, our message and our values. We want you to be able to share your voice, so if you’re new to Animal Rebellion or you’ve been with us for a while, this training will be available for you to practice your speaking skills whether that is through speech or interviews. It only gets easier with practice!

This online workshop is an opportunity to explore Animal Rebellion UK’s structure of coordination and learn about how we make decisions. What are the key principles, ways of working and challenges of our Self-Organising-System and how is it expanding as we continually grow? Discuss leadership, autonomy and the fundamental building blocks of trust and communication.

This online workshop is an opportunity to explore our personal and shared stories in Animal Rebellion. How do we frame our story as a movement? Why do we use certain words and concepts, yet avoid others? How does it reach out to people? What do we mean by our ‘shared vision of change’?
Culture underpins how we relate to one another both within our movement and wider society. Come explore how we can build an inclusive, resilient and empowering culture together at Animal Rebellion.
A short introduction covering the underlying strategy and practice of liaising with the police within the context of nonviolent civil disobedience at protest actions. If you are interested in getting involved in police liaison for your site or group in upcoming actions, this introduction will cover the basic dos and don't , hows and whys of what has evolved into a strategic part of the rebellion. It will be a basic workshop lasting around 90 minutes.Ideally participants should have NVDA training, Know Your Rights training and some action experience.
This online workshop is all about our core purpose as a movement, what our goals are and what tools we use to get there. Learn about the pillars of support, why we aim our actions towards the Government, how we shift hearts and minds of the public and the key principles of Civil Disobedience. There is an opportunity to explore these concepts together and discuss our 2020 strategy.

"People’s Assemblies are a way for a group of people to discuss issues or make decisions collectively, where all voices are heard and valued equally and no one person or group are able to dominate the process. People’s Assemblies play a vital role in our decision making process, and even more so during the rebellion where we will need to hold impromptu assemblies depending on the situations we encounter. In this assembly, we will be discussing the following question - 'How do we best incorporate alternative & non-hierarchical systems into our daily lives?'"
Learn the basics of De-escalation rooted in Nonviolent Communication. How might you de-escalate a tense situation with someone who disagrees with you but is in dialogue with you? How might you de-escalate with very angry or drunk people in protest situations? How might you authentically express your motivation for being involved in Animal Rebellion? Come and learn and expand into empathic connection with those who might disagree or want to disrupt you. This session is an Intro to NVC De-escalation skills, for use during Animal Rebellion actions and for use in other social change movements utilising NVDA to support these movements to cultivate a stronger culture of nonviolence.
